NEUROMODULATORS

Neuromodulators are cosmetic injectables that can effectively minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

They are most commonly used on the upper half of the face, between the eyebrows and around the eyes.

As we age, years of repeated facial movements such as laughing, smiling, and frowning can contribute to the appearance of lines on the face. Over time, these lines can become permanent, making you look older than your age.

When neuromodulators are injected into the muscle in these areas, they temporarily block the nerve signal to that muscle, allowing the muscle to relax and the wrinkles to smooth out. Results from these injections can last anywhere from three to six months before maintenance injections will need to be scheduled.

DERMAL FILLERS

Volume loss is another common concern among many of our patients in the Calgary area. As we age, we lose levels of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that helps keep it supple and smooth. This loss of hyaluronic acid leads to weakening in the natural support structure of the skin, which can cause the development of wrinkles, folds, and sagging skin.

Dermal fillers are injected into the dermal layer of skin to replace lost hyaluronic acid and increase the production of collagen to smooth out wrinkles and restore volume to the face.

FRACTORA

Many of our patients express concerns about deep wrinkles, acne scars, and skin laxity. Fractora is a minimally-invasive type of skin resurfacing that uses micro-pins, similar to microneedling.

Using radiofrequency, the micro pins are applied to the skin to create tiny localized injury and deliver the heat to the sub-dermal layers of skin. Fractora is very effective at revitalizing collagen production for more even skin tone and complexion.

One of the biggest benefits of Fractora is that the repairs occur beneath the surface layers of skin, allowing patients to enjoy beautiful results with minimal damage to the outward appearance of the skin.
